Babystart Female Fertility Test (2 Test Kit)
A woman's fertility starts to decline after she gets to 30, the hormone FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) is intimately involved with a woman's fertility and rising levels tend to be associated with reduced fertility. This hormone can be raised in women with irregular periods and will steadily rise as a woman gets older. As menopause approaches the levels get particularly high and act as an early warning system.
With this test a negative result is going to be good news although its not proof of fertility. A positive test result suggests your fertility is reduced and we recommend that you see your doctor to discuss the results and perhaps have more tests done.
This babystart™ home diagnostic screening test is a rapid test of FSH concentration in urine. The kit contains two tests and if both test results are positive it is an indicator of reduced fertility.

- Much cheaper than attending a fertility clinic
- Extremely Accurate and easy to use
How does the test work?
The FertilityScore™ test will tell you whether the sperm concentration in the test sample is below 20 million/mL motile sperm (negative test) or above 20 million/mL motile sperm (positive test). The World Health Organization standard for a fertile male is above 20 million/mL motile sperm. The FertilityScore Home Screening Test is also unique in that is uses the whole sample to determine male fertility. Other tests use only a small portion of the ejaculate which can lead to inaccurate results due to clumping and cellular debris in the sample. You may have 60 million/ml sperm, but if the motility is 0% then the FertilityScore results will read negative. A key element to male fertility is the number of motile (live) sperm. FertilityScore's ability to differentiate motile from non-motile sperm is a unique feature of these kits.
How accurate is the test?
Clinical Studies using FertilityScore™ have indicated a 93% positive predictive power for semen samples containing 20 million or more motile sperm per ml. A 90% negative predictive power was found for samples containing 10 million motile sperm or less per ml. Thus FertilityScore is a highly effective screening test for male fertility potential, and the only on-site test to measure only motile sperm
What comes with the test?
The FertilityScore Home Diagnostic Screening Test kit contains everything you need to collect and test two separate semen samples for sperm concentration and sperm motility
Why bother testing for male fertility?
The latest statistics suggest that about a third of couples having difficulty conceiving will be diagnosed as 'male-factor infertility'. In another third of cases there will be problems 'on both sides', so it's vitally important that couples have their fertility investigated together.
Declining Male Fertility
Male fertility is declining in the Western world quite rapidly while testicular cancer in adult males and genital deformities in baby boys are on the rise. This all points to environmental causes, and chemical pollutants that mimic the action of female hormones (like oestrogen), have been blamed.
Modern male lifestyles are bad for sperm production
The testicles were designed to hang free and cool and anything that raises them up to body temperature (hot baths, saunas, tight jeans, cycling, long periods of driving) 'cooks' the testes and reduces fertility.
Smoking damages the ability of the sperm to find the egg and may even damage the sperm DNA. Although many babies get made because of alcohol and not despite it, binge drinking is bad for sperm as alcohol is quite toxic. Unlike women, who are born with every egg they are ever going to have, most men go on making sperm into their eighties… but the quality and quantity deteriorates.
